“Restful platters”

I wanted to combine my leaf plate designs with the figurative, and have thoroughly enjoyed creating these “Restful Platters”.

Leaves and seed heads are pressed into the clay which takes incredible impressions, and then I work with coloured clays to created a painterly effect. Finally using “scraffito” to sketch in the figure.

I want to evoke feelings of peace and rest, sometimes scratching in themes that echo my feelings whilst creating each piece.

Each one is unique, never a copy of something previously made…
